Lilac becomes the first new Champion of the year with BOB
at Scottish Breeds, where one year earlier her aunt, Ch K Play To The Crowd took her title and BIS. Lilac is by Ch K High As A Kite and
from Krisma Trouble In Mind at K, their first UK Champion but the
7th for Jennie Griffiths. Lilac made her debut in 2006 and was BP at Bath, then won her first CC at the Southern Club. She took her 2nd at City of Birmingham last year. Her litter sister is American Ch K Hold The Dream and their pedigree is vaguely linebred to Ch Ashgate
Sinclair. Trouble In Mind is by a son of Ch Lindenka Brannigan and
the last Lasara Champion, Love Me Too from a bitch who has also produced a CC winner. Trouble In Mind's next litter contained Crufts first prize winner, K Make A Splash and 2 Champions over in Australia and New Zealand.

Mikey took 2CCs last year with BOB at East of England and
BIS at the Northern Ireland Club show, before taking his 3rd at WELKS.
He becomes the 3rd Rozamie WHWT Champion for Joe Magri, though he has also made up Champions in Yorkies and Papillons. He is also
the 1st for his handler, Daniel Marsden and breeders, Mr & Mrs
Knights. Mikey is the 2nd UK Champion for Ch Krisma Jammydodger and the first for his dam, Rozamie Royal Flair who is a daughter of the first Rozamie Champion, Newtonglen Covenanter of R. Jammydodger and Flair are linked by Ch Rotella The Fezzant Plucka, through 2 Karamynd Champions, Ch Newtonglen Tymeshare of K and Ch Hopecharm Willie Makeit of Karamynd.
Aaron becomes the first Champion for the Lynnsto kennel of
Mich Dale. He won CCs in 2006 and 2007 and then BOB at the May
SKC. His junior son, L Mastercard had won his 1st CC at Scottish
Breeds. Pellam is the 8th UK Champion for Ch Ariostea Pilgrim to
Ashgate, meaning only 6 dogs have sired more Champions. Pellam's
dam is Roscafin Arrina at L, a daughter of the Top Stud of all time,
Ch Ashgate Sinclair (Ashgate are the only kennel with two dogs in the
Top Ten of Champion sires). Pilgrim is a great grandson of Sinclair, while Arrina goes back to Sinclair twice more through her dam. The Lynnsto kennel have also had two littermates winning Best Puppy awards and their imported Kerry Blue won CCs in 2008.
Sula is the 5th Inverglen Champion for Wendy Corri. She is the
niece of the 4th, I Celtic Raider as she is from his litter sister, Spring Melody. Sula is by the kennel's CC winner Birkfell Sparkle by
Inverglen. Sparkle's sire and Spring Melody's dam are litter brother
and sister, Brigadier and Springtime. They are by another Birkfell dog from a granddaughter of the first Inverglen Champion, Cabon Sea
Lord, bred by Chris Bacon. Sula was Best Puppy at the Centenary "of England" Club show 2006, took her first CC at Darlington last year,
was Best Bitch at the Westie of the Year contest, then took successive CCs this year at Bath and Southern Counties. Her litter brother, Lewis, started the year well with a reserve CC at Manchester.
The last Crinan Champion was made up in 1990 and was this
bitch's great great granddam, Ch Crinan Cradle Song. Barbara Hands
has now had 8 UK Champions. The first was Ch Candida of Crinan,
made up in 1975 and Cradle Song's great great granddam. Maddie is
the 2nd Champion this year for Ch Karamynd High As A Kite, and 1st
for Crinan Charlies Angel, a daughter of Dutch import and reserve CC winner, Llasara All Rite at Charosmack who sired a double Top Westie. All Rite is from American and European lines, based on UK Lasaras. Maddie's parents are virtually unrelated in about 8 generations. Barbara Hands' biggest winner was Ch Clan Crinan, Top Westie of
1985. He sired 6 UK Champions, appearing in this pedigree with a son from Cradle Song.
The first of 2008's Champions to take all his CCs this year
was made up at Border Union. Freddie becomes the 8th Champion
for his owner and was handled to his title by Thomas West. He is the
5th UK Champion for his sire, UK/Irish Ch Bournehaven Birthday Guy,
a former Top Westie, Terrier group winner and double Crufts BOB. He
sired a litter of three UK Champions for the Burneze kennel, while
Freddie's dam, Ch K Play To The Crowd is from a litter of three UK Champions, who have all produced CC winners this year. Birthday Guy and Hattie are linked by Ch Ashgate Sinclair; they are both grandchildren. Freddie's brother, Karamynd Playing The Game, recently gained his title in Sweden for the Tweed kennel.
Bunty made her debut in 2003 winning a BP at Driffield, took
her 1st CC & BOB at WELKS 2006, then her next CCs at the May SKC and Border Union this year to become the 8th Champion for Doreen Lancaster. She is by Ch Kristajen Casterspell, his 2nd Champion ex Ch
C Careless Spirit, a daughter of Casterspell's dual CC winning litter sister, K Carefee Spirit with Clanestar. The last Champion was Cloud Dancer, also by Casterspell and from a daughter of Carefree Spirit. Doreen's first Champion was Birkfell Silver Thistle of C, made up in 1974 who won a Terrier Group. The dam of Casterspell and Careless Spirit was the latest Birkfell Champion, Sometimes at K who goes back to the parents of Thistle: Ch B Sea Squall (sire of 6 UK Champions) and Ch Solitude (dam of 3 UK Champions).
Ruby took a Reserve CC as a puppy at Paignton 2006. She
retired for a litter in 2007 and came back to win a first prize at Crufts. At National Terrier she took her first CC, joined by 2 of her puppies, both first prize winners. A 2nd CC came at Windsor where her son, Williwontie was BP. Ruby's title came at Leeds, making her the 8th Gilbri Champion. She is by the last, Ir/UK Ch G Talk Of The Town (also made up at Leeds in 2004) from a grand-daughter of Ch G October Brew. TOTT is the grandson of October Brew's litter sister, Maid To Measure. Ruby was bred by the Wogans and is their 3rd UK Champion. The other two are sisters of Ruby's dam, W Wild Jasmin, the Harris's Ch W White Lily by Vallange and Ch W Cassie by Vallange. A younger sister of Ruby's, W Anastasia of Comdale was BPIS at the of England Club Championship show.
Pai is jointly owned by the Havasu and Charosmack kennels.
He was handled to his wins by Roz Dunne, becoming her 8th UK Champion and the 7th for the Crocketts. Pai is a double grandson of Charosmack Cristmas Craker for Cooley, a son of former Top Westie, Ch Charosmack Clog Dancer and the 1st Charosmack Champion, Olton Aye Cloudy Day at C. He is the first UK Champion for his sire, Russian, Irish & UK Ch Markstown Mr Havasu (Crufts BOB and Terrier Group#3 2006) and dam, Havasu Hell's Angel. Hell's Angel is the daughter of Irish, UK & Danish Ch Havasu Humber Lady who gained her UK title in 2000 with 3 Club show BIS wins. Pai took CCs at Bath, Paignton & Bournemouth (& Group#2). He took a further CC at Richmond while over in Ireland on the same day, his son, Havasu High Tech gained his Irish title.
