Crufts 2003 saw 209 West Highland Whites entered for the judge, Mrs Connie Hartmann. She found her main dog and bitch winners in littermates, bred by Roz Dunne, both winning their second CCs on the day. Charosmack Clogs'n'Togs at Dilkhuish and Charosmack Clear Dreams. Both coming up to 3 years old, they are by UK/German Ch Charosmack Clog Dancer ex Wee Hy Lynn's Cheerleader. Clog Dancer was Top Westie in 2000 and 2001 and made a flying visit to Crufts from Germany competing in the Open class. The Crufts judge previously gave Clog Dancer his 4th CC and BIS of the North of Ireland WHWT Club in 2000.
Clogs'n'Togs took 1st in the limit class. His first CC & BOB came at Welsh Kennel Club 2002. He is owned by Mr A G & Mrs S G Hurst and was handled on the day by Mr K Crockett of the Havasu kennel.
Clear Dreams won the open bitch class. She took her first CC at Southern Counties 2002 soon after her first litter which produced BP winner, Charosmack Cracked Ice over Havasu and Czech Junior Ch Charosmack Cold As Ice.
The last show where littermates took both CCs was City of Birmingham in 1997 where the Harris' Ch Vallange Victorious and Ch Vallange Lavender Moon won.
Clogs'n'Togs was made BOB and represented the breed in the Terrier Group. Unfortunately he went no further but was featured on the BBC TV highlights.
The reserve CC winning dog took the same award at 2001's show. Pat Barrell's Ch Barwest Bee-Having was handled by Angus Gordon. He is by UK/Nordic Ch Krisma City Slicker ex Barwest Bee-Tween Friends. City Slicker won the dog CC at the 2001 show and is now doing well in Scandinavia. Reserve in the bitches came from Post Graduate, Dot Britten's Ragus Winter Morning at Krisma. She is by last year's Crufts BOB, Lindenka Brannigan ex Krisma Artemis and was bred by Lesley Crawley of the famous Ragus Norfolk and Norwich. A Ragus Norwich took BOB at Crufts 2003.
The Krisma connection continues with the Best Puppy winner, Tina Squire's Bellevue Trigger Happy, by Ch Krisma Streetwise ex Ch Bellevue Tiger Lilly. Streetwise is the grandsire of Winter Morning through Brannigan and also sired Clear Dream's winning puppies.
Cheerleader is American bred and was brought over to the UK by Jane Kabel of Llovall. Her only litter was to Clog Dancer who is a quarter American breeding himself.
